Tourism Package
We picked the Ombak Dive Resort because we wanted a room that was more like a hotel than the cottages on the Perhentian Islands, which we had bad experiences with. The resort is well maintained, there are a large number of workers cleaning, they are all kind, and the room, which was on the first floor, was ideal. They only have WiFi at the café and at reception, and the password changes every day, but come on, it's not a big deal, because once you're there, you're disconnected from the rest of the world. If you buy a prepaid phone card on this side of the island, Pulau Kecil, make sure it's Xpax, Celcom's prepaid brand.
At
Ombak Resort, everything is in order. The staff is always cheerful and eager to
help. Two snorkelling sessions went off without a hitch. There is something for
everyone on the breakfast buffet, which has been meticulously prepared. Every
night, there are movie screenings, and if that bothers us, there are
alternative calm locations on the beach. It's unfair to give a "poor"
grade when there's hardly no wifi. If you need to connect, the reception desk
can help you with online flight check-in, boarding pass printing, and boat
return bookings. We were cut off from the rest of the world on the Perhentian
Islands.
